I moved to Florida from the wilds of British Columbia, Canada in January 1997, and began my career as a hairstylist right here in Longwood.

I worked hard to build a loyal clientele, always with the goal and motto that if you “sit in my chair once, you’re ‘mine’ for life.”

Before long, I was married and started a family, and soon after I ventured into salon ownership. I opened my first salon with a business partner and a core group of four wonderful stylists in Apopka. Over the next 5 years we grew into a thriving team of 8 stylists – all from diverse backgrounds and life journeys. What fun we had!

As time passed, my offspring entered elementary school, and I sold the salon. I then moved to a part-time location where I could be more available as the taxi-cab driver all good moms turn into. 🙂

I also began instructing Cosmetology classes at Lake Brantley High School, and enjoyed 5 rewarding years teaching my craft to over 500 students – all of whom also became ‘my kids’.

As my own ‘little DNAs’ moved into middle and high school, I was ready to have my own space again. I opened The Color Loft in 2011 with the goal of creating my perfect utopia; a salon that would feel like home the minute you walk in, as well as offer me the freedom to adjust my schedule to fit my family’s needs.

I am so lucky to be living my dream, while working to create a unique salon experience for each client.
